The Bear and the Dragon

I just finished reading Tom Clancy’s “The Bear and the Dragon”. It’s definitely vintage Clancy for what it’s worth (I guess that depends on if you like his books ;)). Some really odd (linguistic) “blunders” that didn’t feel like Clancy at all, but on the whole, a nice reading experience.

Jack Ryan takes on the duties of the American Presidency, manages to make good on old promises to Russian friends while keeping the Chinese Dragon at bay; you won’t find a shorter summary than that of this book!

I liked “Red Rabbit” better; but neither hold a candle to some of Clancy’s earlier works like “The Hunt for Red October” and “The Cardinal of the Kremlin”. I really did like “Red Storm Rising” too.

Of course, there are people that take things maybe a little too seriously, like the author of this list on Amazon for example 🙂
