Translating Open Source Software

The world of Open Source Software (OSS) is exciting, useful, and very necessary. It makes great software available to people all over the world. OSS is very often a community effort at some level, although many projects are a one-person-show.

You do not have to be a programmer or developer to contribute to an Open Source project. Many projects could be made more accessible to more people if they were translated to local languages, and there are literally thousands of projects waiting to be translated into other languages from English.

So, if you feel that you have some spare time, and want to contribute to the world of Open Source Software, start participating and contributing!

Some of the software projects I help out, or have helped out, translating from English to Swedish are:

FairEmail
Kimai
Paperless-ngx
Excalidraw
PhotoPrism
Ente
Rallly
FluffyChat
Plainpad
Horde

There can, of course, be several translators for a given language!
